Brian Cox

This portrait of Brian Cox was created in New York City while he was promoting a new film that he was in. We were in a Manhattan cigar lounge and had created a few portraits using the scenes of the lounge. I used our last few minutes together to shoot close up portraits focusing on strong facial expressions. My thought during this part of our shoot was that I could bring out a gentle smile in between moments of serious and defiant expressions.
